Abhishek Bachchan's 11 films had flopped, then Aditya Chopra saw Amitabh's film, and his luck changed
Today Abhishek Bachchan may be a big name in the film world, but there was a time when he was longing to taste the success of a hit. In the year 2000, J.P. Dutta had made a film named 'Refugee'. Abhishek made his debut with that film. This film was average in terms of earnings at the box office. After that, with the desire of a hit film in his heart, he kept doing one film after another, time was passing, but his luck was not favoring him much.
Abhishek Bachchan got his first hit film four years after starting his career. By then he had shown his acting skills in 13 films. Out of 13, 11 films were flops and 2 were average. After that came a film which changed his fortunes so much that he became famous overnight. He is known for that film even today. The film we are talking about is 'Dhoom'. This film proved lucky not only for Abhishek but also for Uday Chopra and John Abraham. Before this film, the career of these two stars was also not going well. Both of them were also facing flops.
It has been 20 years since the release of 'Dhoom'
'Dhoom' was YRF's action-thriller film, in which Abhishek played the role of a police officer and Uday supported him. John played the role of a cunning thief. This film was released in theatres on 27 August 2004. It has been 20 years since its release. Do you know that this picture has a special connection with a film of Abhishek's father Amitabh Bachchan.
It is said that Aditya Chopra of YRF, who was the producer of this film, had seen Amitabh's 1979 film 'Kaala Patthar'. This picture was made by Aditya's father Yash Chopra and the screenplay was written by Salim-Javed together. This was also an action-thriller film. Its story was completely different from 'Dhoom', but Aditya was inspired by this film.
Got the idea from the song of the film
There was a song in this film - 'Dhoom maache dhoom, aaj ki raina..'. After singing this song, Aditya got the idea of 'Dhamu' and inspired by this, he made the film 'Dhoom'. This song of 'Kaala Patthar' was woven in a different style and the title song of 'Dhoom' was made 'Dhoom Machale'. This film, which was made in a budget of about 11 crores, did a business of 50 crores worldwide, after which this film got the tag of superhit and Abhishek shone.
