Religious story of Radha Ashtami

Radhastami Katha is related to the birth of Radha Ji. Radha Ji was the daughter of Vrishbhanu Gopa. Radha Ji's mother's name was Kirti. In Padmapuran, Radha Ji is said to be the daughter of King Vrishbhanu. According to this book, when the king was clearing the land for the yagya, he found Radha Ji in the form of a land girl. The king considered this girl as his daughter and brought her up.

In this Purana, many such things have been told about Radha which very few people know. Radha ji was born in the Rawal village of Braj after Janmashtami. It is said that one who does not observe the fast of Radha Ashtami does not get the fruits of Janmashtami fast. Radha Ashtami fast is observed on the Ashtami Tithi of Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha. In the Puranas, Radha-Rukmini are considered to be the same. Those who worship Radha ji on the day of Radha Ashtami, their house is always filled with wealth. Mahalakshmi fast also starts on the day of Radha Ashtami.
